|
As an encouragement for all current customers to migrate to our new datacenter by March 1st, 2007, we are pleased to offer a promotional sale for all " Economy Hosting Packages" purchased between now and the end of February. The list price for an Economy Hosting plan is $6.75/mo (or $81/yr). However, if you purchase your hosting plan by March 1, 2007, you will receive our sale price of $5.95/mo (or $71.40/yr). Save more by purchasing two years of hosting at once for just $121.44. (That's less than $61 a year!) There's more good news! Even if you're not already a customer of YourChurchWeb.net, and you don't need to migrate from our old datacenter, you can still benefit from the sale. But you need to act before March 1, 2007. Making the most of limited resources

I believe it's vital for churches to stay abreast of current and new technologies in their efforts to reach the world with the Gospel. At the same time, not every church has someone with the time and resources to stay up-to-date. That's where we come in--we want to help you effectively manage your resources by looking for the best and most affordable tools that we can find. I was amazed to learn of a ministry near me that's spending nearly $200/month on its webhosting services. Yes, they have a variety of needs beyond the basic hosting package, as they need an SSL Certificate, a storefront, and extensive email capabilities. However, I was able to provide them a quote for services that was less than $500 a year. I was at a conference last weekend that had an extensive exhibition hall. As I walked through, I found a variety of church web-hosting companies that were charging nearly $50/month for a basic website. Granted, these were template-driven sites that were designed by professional designers. But it occurred to me that for the $500 saved, a church could either purchase a web-publishing software package, provide training for a volunteer webmaster, or hire a local web-designer to do the work for them. All of this to say--I know that you have lots of options available to you. I also know that you may have limited resources, and I want to help you make the best of them. YourChurchWeb.net customers who signed up before March 30, 2006 know that we have been undergoing a transition from one datacenter to another. The datacenter that we were using was bought out by another company. Unfortunately, despite promises to improve services, it was my experience that their services and their support simply did not meet the standards of quality that I expected to be able to pass on to our customers. This began an aggressive search for a new datacenter and new hosting plans. It was a difficult process--nobody likes to go through the steps of re-registering their accounts, moving their website and email addresses, and experiencing some downtime during the transition. I did not make the decision to transition without weighing all of those factors. However, in the long run, I felt that the better customer support, the stronger network infrastructure, the more robust hosting packages, and the more affordable price was worth the time and frustration to help everyone move to a new site. At the writing of this entry, over half of our customer base has successfully made the transition to the new datacenter, and everyone seems very happy! Here are a few of the upgrades that we were able to make: - The new "Web Based Email" program is a vast improvement from the old webmail. The spam-filtering capabilities are greatly improved, and the server does a superb job of rejecting invalid emails before they even arrive in your inbox.
- The economy hosting plan has ten times as much space available for you to use. And, it costs less! Those customers who simply purchase economy hosting and continue to register one domain name will realize a $10/yr savings.
- We now offer a Linux hosting plan, which has a number of add-on applications available for immediate installation.
- I am so pleased to be able to offer 24/7 technical support directly from the datacenter. In the past, I was fielding all of the technical support queries by email--and then working with the technicians to resolve the problem. Once you are a customer at the new datacenter, you will be able to have direct access to a technician--by email, or by phone.
- The introduction of a template-based web development program called "WebSite Tonight®." While not specifically designed for churches, this program can help you get a website up quickly, without knowledge of HTML or web-design. If you purchase a WebSite Tonight® package, you do not also need to purchase hosting--for as little as $4.50 a month, you can have a five-page website full of information about your church or ministry.
- Other add-on packages. Realizing that not every church is the same, I've decided that the cookie-cutter approach has limitations. At the old datacenter we were limited to offering one particular plan, and expecting it to work for everyone. At the new datacenter, you have the ability to customize your plan to work for you--in addition to our affordable hosting packages, domain registrations, email, and WebSite Tonight®, we also offer a variety of other services including:
As you can probably tell, I'm very excited about this transition into the future. YourChurchWeb.net is prepared to offer more services, customized to your needs, at a price you can afford. If you are a new customer, jump right in by exploring the links at the top of this page. If you are a customer from the prior datacenter and have not yet migrated your account, please visit our special migration page. As always, if you have any questions--please email us at sales@yourchurchweb.net. Labels: Migration
