Coming Soon - Salt of the Web
In partnership with Virtu Software, YourChurchWeb.net is pleased to announce a new venture in spreading the Gospel message on the internet: SaltOfTheWeb.net. Salt of the Web will combine an affordable content management and hosting solution with a search engine and website directory.

Salt of the Web is still under development, but you can sign up to receive more information when services become available.

Here's just a little more information about what's coming:

Content Management and Hosting: Using Virtu Software's content management system, Salt of the Web customers will be able to choose a simple template, create pages, and update those pages, without needing to know HTML, FTP, ASP, PHP or any of those other confusing acronyms! For a low yearly fee, Churches and Christian ministries can have a professional looking website maintained and hosted at Salt of the Web. You can also purchase a domain name from YourChurchWeb.net to associate with your hosting space.

A Search Engine you can trust: By combining our proprietary trust rankings with reliable technology, Salt of the Web will provide you with relevant search results that you can trust.

Promote your site in the directory: Our Salt of the Web directory will provide free listings to churches, Christian ministries, and Christian resources. We'll also take submissions from Christian-owned businesses whose websites help provide "salt" to the internet.

Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Mt. 5:13-16)

Jonathan Twitchell, the owner of YourChurchWeb.net, is also a pastor and podcaster.  He and his wife Melody live near the coast of Maine with their black, long-hair, bobtail cat named Kiera.

Pastor Jon believes that churches must stay abreast of new technologies in their effort to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through websites, podcasts, radio and television, the Church of the 21st century has the unique opportunity to be available to all people, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

YourChurchWeb.net was begun in 2001 based on the conviction that every church ought to have a website, and that the technology should be as affordable as possible.

Jonathan's brother Douglas Twitchell joins us on this blog as an occasional guest blogger.  Douglas is the owner of Virtu Software, and specializes in web-based programming and database development. For an example of some of Doug's work, check out Quote Puzzler.  Doug is also very involved in ministry through his local church, and his ministry and devotional website.
