Let's suppose that you have a single page for a special event--a church anniversary, an outreach event, a Vacation Bible School. Maybe you even have that page designed so it looks different from the rest of your site. You can purchase a "throwaway" domain to point at that special event until it's over.

This might be particularly useful to advertise an outreach event to people who might not be interested in attending your church--or might not want to spend time on your church website.
